PRIVATE INTELLIGENCE. TANGIBLE SECURITY. HUMAN CONTROL.

One lab building private capability in software and hardware.

Tethered Unicorn Labs is developing Unicorn Forge, an observable personal-AI workspace, and UniCrypt, a self-contained prototype for local file compression and authenticated encryption.

Currently in private pre-alpha field testing. Product capabilities and commercial plans remain subject to validation.

THE PRODUCT PORTFOLIO

Two products, one private-computing thesis.

SOFTWARE PLATFORM

Unicorn Forge

A local-first command center that coordinates models, agents, tools, memory, and trusted computers while showing commands, results, failures, and approvals.

FLAGSHIP HARDWARE

UniCrypt

A self-contained encryption and compression appliance designed to keep key material off the host computer and operate without cloud services.

THE PROBLEM

AI is impressive in a chat box—and fragmented everywhere else.

People juggle separate assistants, model subscriptions, automation tools, credentials, files, and devices. Most systems lose context, cannot reliably operate the computer, or claim success without proof.

Advanced local AI remains especially difficult to install, govern, and use from more than one device.

THE PRODUCT

One forge for models, agents, tools, memory, and machines.

01

Private AI command center

Run and switch local models, keep projects organized, attach files, preserve context, and use voice from a desktop or phone.

02

Agentic execution

Break a prompt into tasks, select appropriate models, call tools, show live commands and responses, and verify completion.

03

Personal capability layer

Connect skills, MCP servers, calendars, Obsidian, development tools, browser control, and user-managed credentials.

04

Cooperative compute

Pair trusted Forge computers and distribute suitable work across available machines while preserving owner control.

05

Continuous personalization

Curate consented interactions into reviewable training candidates and build a model harness around the individual.

06

Observable autonomy

Expose agent activity, failures, reasoning artifacts, health, resource use, approvals, and human takeover instead of hiding them.

WHY THIS CAN MATTER

The defensibility is the system around the model.

  1. Model independenceForge can evolve with open and commercial models instead of depending on one provider.
  2. Personal operating contextLong-lived user preferences, workflows, projects, and approved data create compounding utility.
  3. Execution and verificationTool routing, observable activity, and evidence-based completion address the gap between answers and outcomes.
  4. Trusted device meshMultiple user-owned computers can become a coordinated private compute surface.

VALIDATION ROADMAP

NOW

Private pre-alpha

Validate onboarding, reliability, autonomy, mobile access, safety controls, and which workflows create repeat use.

NEXT

Focused alpha

Harden installation and updates, measure retention and task completion, and narrow the highest-value user profiles.

THEN

Commercial pilot

Test paid packaging for power users, creators, developers, and small teams that value private capable automation.

BUSINESS MODEL HYPOTHESES

Monetize the trusted workspace, not the user’s private data.

  • Paid desktop license or subscription for the managed Forge experience
  • Pro tier for multi-computer orchestration, advanced agents, and managed updates
  • Team deployments, support, and workflow configuration
  • UniCrypt founder devices, later hardware sales, and carefully scoped support services
  • Optional model, training, or compute services with explicit user choice

These are hypotheses to validate during alpha; pricing and unit economics have not been finalized.

PREFERRED ALPHA CASE

$200,000 Two Blackwell workstations + approximately 40 weeks of R&D

Three funding cases tied to specific capacity and runway.

The preferred $200,000 case funds two cooperative-compute workstations, approximately nine months of focused R&D across Forge and UniCrypt, field testing, hardware validation, professional support, and a contingency reserve.

$100,000

Forge Foundation

$42,000 workstation · $40,000 for 20 R&D weeks · $10,000 legal counsel · $3,000 operations · $5,000 reserve.

$200,000

Forge Alpha

$84,000 for two workstations · $80,000 for 40 R&D weeks · $20,000 legal counsel · $6,000 operations · $10,000 reserve.

$350,000

Unicorn Foundry

$119,000 hardware · $156,000 for 78 R&D weeks · $35,000 legal counsel · $20,000 operations · $20,000 reserve.

Hardware

Additional local compute, storage, test devices, networking, replacement components, and development infrastructure.

Core R&D

Agent reliability, model routing, tool execution, verification, personal model harnesses, and cooperative multi-computer workloads.

Product hardening

Forge installation, updates, security controls, recovery and observability; UniCrypt hardware revision, firmware testing, key lifecycle, and pilot documentation.

Field validation

Support the first testing cohorts, measure repeat use and task completion, and focus the product around proven workflows.

Each case includes a dedicated legal allocation for company formation, financing documents and securities filings, IP ownership, product terms, privacy, and closing support. Hardware planning uses NVIDIA’s current $16,000 RTX PRO 6000 Blackwell listing, AMD’s $11,699 Threadripper PRO 9995WX launch price, and a $2,000 weekly R&D rate. Final purchases require vendor quotes. Financing instrument and valuation terms remain under discussion and require counsel.

THE CONVERSATION

Preparing three investment cases from $100,000 to $350,000, with a preferred $200,000 alpha plan.

The immediate objective is to turn a broad working prototype into a focused, dependable product with measurable user outcomes. Unicorn Forge is seeking aligned seed investors as well as technical advisors and design partners. Detailed architecture, field-test evidence, budget, and milestones are available in a private conversation.
